The "Mindfulness for Life" course, developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF), is an 8-week transformative journey designed to seamlessly blend ancient mindfulness wisdom with modern cognitive-behavioral techniques. Also known as MBCT-L, this course aims to help you integrate mindfulness into your daily life for lasting, sustainable, and positive change.

Course Overview

The "Mindfulness for Life" course, developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF), is an 8-week transformative journey designed to seamlessly blend ancient mindfulness wisdom with modern cognitive-behavioral techniques. Also known as MBCT-L, this course aims to help you integrate mindfulness into your daily life for lasting, sustainable, and positive change.


Throughout this comprehensive, skills-based course, you will learn approaches to navigate life's challenges, address recurring patterns of thought and behavior that may cause suffering, and cultivate the ability to fully savor and flourish in life.


In this course, you will learn to:

  • Recognize Automatic Pilot: Understand the tendency to operate on automatic pilot and discover how bringing mindfulness into daily life can help you live more fully.

  • Gather the Scattered Mind: Notice how often you get lost in thoughts and feelings, and practice techniques to return to the present moment.

  • Address Unhelpful Patterns: Identify and address unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting, and bring kindness to these experiences.

  • Maintain Balance: Develop skills to maintain balance through life's ups and downs, respond skillfully to difficulties, engage with what is most important to you, and open up to joy, contentment, and gratitude.

Course Structure 

The course is group-based and spans eight weeks, with weekly sessions designed to deepen your mindfulness practice. Each session lasts for 2.5 hours. The course also includes an additional 5-hour "Day of Practice" to immerse yourself fully in mindfulness.

A certificate will be issued when the participant has completed at least 80% of the course.

What to Expect

  • Companions: Join a diverse group of participants who also hope to improve their quality of life through mindfulness.

  • Structured Sessions: Each of the 8 group sessions has its own theme and follows a consistent pattern.

  • Guided Practices: Each session includes guided mindfulness exercises, followed by guided discussions to reflect on the insights gained.

  • Ongoing Practice: You are encouraged to continue practicing mindfulness between each taught session.

    • Daily Practice: Recordings for the main practices will be provided

    • Integration: This involves a mixture of following the recordings of guided practices and bringing mindful awareness into your everyday activities.

  • Practice Reviews and Sharings: Sessions will include reviews of your personal practice from the previous week to support your ongoing development.There will be space for you to share your experiences of the home practices from the previous week, with the weekly theme woven into the discussion.

  • Support Materials: Access guided practices and written materials to support your learning throughout the course.
